There’s nothing like autumn: pumpkin spiced lattes, leaves falling, and scarves being your heaviest accessory until hats and gloves make their way back for winter.  About every other weekend, I spend my Saturdays downtown, enjoying the delicious and cool restaurants, and of course the endless amounts of stores.  I especially love hanging out in Soho at this time of year as it’s easy to walk around and browse.

I notice the difference between Soho and the Upper East Side immediately–it all starts with the cobblestone streets, which not only ruin my thin heels, but makes lots of noise as cabs and bikes make their way along the streets.  However, it definitely brings the charming and hip neighborhood some personality.

My Saturday in Soho started off at Balthazar for my standard breakfast: bread basket (the chocolate bread is my favorite), fruit salad, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and a cappuccino.  I then went into some stores like Aritzia, Topshop, Tibi, and Barneys CO-OP.  After walking and shopping, I was ready for another warm drink, so I stopped at Aroma for a cappuccino, which is particularly good when adding the piece of chocolate that comes with it: a bittersweet delight.

Afterwards, I made my way uptown to help my mom get ready for a dinner party we hosted at home: just some close friends, a little background music, and great food.  It was a fun and beautiful Saturday, and I’m already looking forward to next weekend–boy do the weekends just fly by!
