I stayed in the city this weekend as my relatives are visiting from out of town. We decided to spend yesterday afternoon in the Meatpacking District, where the stores are spacious, each carrying an eclectic assortment of merchandise that you can’t find at department stores–most of them are flagship stores and have items made specially for the location.

We shopped everywhere from Jeffrey (there was a huge shoe sale with Prada, Miu Miu, YSL, Jimmy Choo and more) and Scoop to Moschino and Yigal Azrouel.

We also stopped at one of my favorite food trucks for warm and gooey chocolate chip cookies and a failed attempt to sipping on iced cappuccinos (they didn’t have decaf).

I wanted to wear an outfit that would be fun and colorful for daytime, but still appropriate for a fondue dinner at Artisanal. I chose my new peplum top from H&M that I absolutely love. It’s super soft and comfortable, and the color is a perfect match to one of my favorite nail polishes, Lilacism. The hue is elegant and enchanting and whispers the transition to summertime.

I love the combination of lilac and navy blue, so there was no question to wear my favorite jeans, chunky cork and patent leather wedges, and oversized tote.

It was also the perfect opportunity to wear my new collar necklace that incorporates all of my other favorite pastel hues.

How did you spend your Sunday afternoon?

with style,

S
