SYDNEY SADICK

Fresh and Sweet

In Shoes on June, 21 2011

No matter how much a girl might have in her closet, she will still experience a day when she feels like she has nothing to wear.  Today, I was that girl.  It wasn’t about what clothes, handbags, or jewelry I should wear, but it was about what shoes I should wear.  It’s not that I had some extraordinarily challenging outfit to match my shoes to, but it felt almost impossible to find the “perfect” ones.

My shoes are divided between my NYC home and my Hampton home, and the collections that I have in each are rather different from one another.  My NYC collection is full of darker, simpler, and sophisticated shoes.  For example, my BCBG black wedges, Sam Edelman nude gladiators, and needle-point Stubbs & Wooton slippers.  In the Hamptons, my collection is more fun and bright: pink Chanel jelly flats and sea-shell embellished Jack Rogers, just to name a few.

I realized after 15 minutes (what felt like an eternity) the type of shoe I was missing in my city collection: a metallic sandal.  I wanted to wear a bright, fun, and bold shoe today, clearly something that I was lacking.  I’m going to LA in July, so my mom has been printing out various articles on new stores or places she thinks that I should shop while there.  One of the stores is Opening Ceremony (a brand that I own and love), so I decided to check out their website.

I immediately clicked the ‘shoe’ section because I needed a Style Solution today myself!  I came across an amazing pair of sandals that I absolutely must have for summer.  The sandals are by K. Jacques for Opening Ceremony, and are the perfect option for those who want a bright, metallic, sexy, and girly shoe.  I’m obsessed with the color combo -rose, gold, and mint- because they compliment each other beautifully.

The corvette 2-strap sandals ($270) will look elegant and summery with a mint blouse, nude shorts, a rose tote, a rose and crystal watch, rose aviators, and a crystal ring; even go for mint-green nails!
