Some days are sunny while others are rainy, and yesterday combined a little bit of both. New York is one of the most unpredictable cities, and it’s not just the weather; be it a man dressed up as an explorer greeting street-goers outside of Nellos restaurant, a celebrity spotted through the window at Tom Ford, or just a change of colored lights on the Empire State Building, glistening from rooftop heights.
I tried on about 3 different outfits until I settled for the one above while getting dressed yesterday morning–it was one of those days. I wasn’t in the mood for a splash of neon (surprise, surprise), a tight dress, or a pair of patterned shorts (it was too cold, for starters).
I felt like wearing the typical New York City uniform: all black. I did, however, incorporate a slither of color with my metallic green strap on my new heels that I scored off of a Barney’s sale rack.
I love shoes, and there is no such thing as having too many. No one says a word to a man dating “too many” women at once, so why should anyone question a woman’s right to shoes?
Consider them…our boyfriends. Mr. Louboutin…Mr. Zanotti…Mr. Vivier…Mr. Jacobs…
As Marilyn Monroe once said, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.”
with style,
S
