High-top sneakers are suddenly popping up everywhere, making them one of the most must-have pairs of shoes this season.

College campuses swarm with women a la ballet flats galore, while the work force exhibits high heel pumps, or for the select few who are brave enough, stilettos. But there’s a gap, something for the girly trend-setter who wants to look chic but with a sporty twist. That’s where the high-tops come in, and this pair from Gregory’s at Fred Segal in LA were just the right ones for me.

I was excited to pair my high-tops with this new [faux] leather jacket, a real steal for under $100. It comes in other color options, but this blue hue was my favorite for its rose-gold hardware.
