Happy Fourth of July, Style Solutions readers!
Holidays allow us to experiment with theme dressing, which can definitely be a challenge, especially since on this holiday we’re limited to red, white and blue. However, I also like to spice up my patriotic palette with a trendy metallic. You want to be fun and festive–not reminiscent of a Halloween costume.
To create a balanced outfit, I mixed some pieces from my closet (shorts and shoes) with a pair of themed sunglasses and some necklaces that I picked up at a random party store, and a t-shirt that I scored for just $18 at a boutique in the Hamptons.
You don’t want to spend a lot of money for a once-a-year outfit, so combining what you already own with some inexpensive accessories makes for the ultimate ensemble.
So enjoy the day’s traditions, be it a family BBQ, hanging out at the beach with friends, watching fireworks, or just enjoying your day off by sitting in the cool AC!
with style,
