This outfit is my interpretation of transforming yesterday’s accessories (shoes, necklace and ring) a la Hamptons weekend to New York City chic.

I bought this gingham print blouse at Cusp last week, and it makes me think of delicious picnics in Central Park and outings in the country. It’s a fresh take on the classic print due to the bright strawberry hue and airiness of the menswear-styled silhouette.

Gingham is a popular trend this season thanks to designers and fashion houses such as Miu Miu (have you seen those darling sling backs?), Jil Sander and Marc Jacobs, making it a coveted print to fashion on these warm summer days.

The necklace is what I believe gives this outfit the Sydney touch, as what was originally just a simple collar amped up to one with a touch of glamorous and feminine edge. The jewelry and structured boxer bag also make this more of a city look, but it can easily be transformed to weekend casual with the replacement of white lace shorts, a fun espadrille and a relaxed tote.

What’s your take on the gingham trend?

with style,
