There are some days when my schedule requires wearing an outfit that transitions from day to night: from work straight to a party and then dinner with friends.

My new Miley dress was the perfect go-to frock for my busy day since it’s professional and classic while incorporating an element of pizzaz.

I love the cinched waist as it makes the dress look more like separates (a shirt and a skirt); and, although I tend to shift away from black dresses at this time of year, the pink and purple pastels mixed in with black and white pattern gives this LBD a summery feel. Plus, it’s one of those “feel good” dresses, meaning you could eat a heavy dinner and still feel like you’re outfit is flattering.

I usually like to switch up my accessories for my daytime and evening plans, but since I had to stick to just one set in this outfit, I added a statement necklace for some glitz and glam and kept my shoes and handbag simple for a polished look.

It’s all about creating a happy medium.
