These Boots Are Made For Walkin’

In Shoes on November, 15 2010

The Nancy Sinatra lyrics from “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ ” came to my mind when I saw a fabulous pair of sapphire booties online.  I love all of my black pieces in my closet (whether it be clothes, shoes, or accessories), but sometimes my typical all-black New York City attire gets to be a little boring.  We all wear black because it gives us security: we know we’ll look good in it, it’s easy to match with other pieces in our closets, and it’s simple.

You can keep your all-black look- but add a little spice to it- by adding one bit of color by wearing a colored scarf, sweater, boot, or accessory- plus more.  Linda Ruched just came out with a chic sapphire suede bootie called ‘Ash’ that is “inspired by the brilliance of one of our favorite precious stones, and adds vivid color to drab days.”  This boot will look great with an all black outfit because it will still be simple and chic but with some color.  I see these booties in two different looks.

Look 1: Tight black leggings, black tank or v-neck, sparkly/sequin boyfriend blazer, a black clutch, small diamond or diamond looking earrings, a cocktail ring, and the booties.

Look 2: Simple and elegant black dress (any sleeve length) yet short, black tights, a fur vest or leather jacket (depending on which you prefer), a long chunky necklace with small earrings and rings (I would go for silver jewels), and an evening shoulder bag + the booties.

The boots are $195 and are available on Cusp.com
