Sydney’s Metallic Frock For A Frosty Night

In On Sydney on December, 10 2011

As the holidays are getting closer, I love to wear clothes that have some glitz and glamour.  This is the time to bring out those metallics, warm colors, wintery scents, and quaint fashionable accents.  Since Thursday, it has felt like winter, and now that it’s finally time to bring out your heavy jackets, I wasn’t quite ready last night.

I went to Mr. Chows for dinner, (one of my favorite restaurants) which has an elegant and sophisticated vibe; but, the edge comes from the sleek decor and cool mix of people.  I decided to give my new Zara metallic dress it’s first wear.  It’s sleeveless, so you can wear it with or without a sweater.

I decided to wear my dress with a a miscellaneous black and grey sweater with silver stud embellishment, Topshop tights, Calvin Klein platform pumps, Saks Fifth Avenue leather gloves, an Aqua [faux] fur vest, an Hermes cuff, and little diamond studs.  The dress will look perfect sleeveless for a holiday party and for cruise, which is happily not that far away!

I almost always wear my hair down, but it didn’t look right with this look, since it has an overall sleek aesthetic. So, I pulled my hair up in a tight bun and it was actually necessary because it was super windy last night; and, I didn’t want to wear a hat because hat hair would not have looked good.

It’s been a long week, but I’m ready to bring out some of my fun pieces in my wardrobe this weekend.

with style,

S
