Lela Rose‘s spring/summer 2013 38-look collection was one of my favorite shows of NYFW. This designer knows how to pull off girlie girl looks really, really well, each one glamorous and sophisticated with diaphanous floral fabrics, intricate metallic embroidery and pastel hues.
I had a great time backstage meeting Lela and interviewing front-row attendees, including Lauren Conrad, Mandy Moore, Louise Roe and Mariska Hargitay, and taking snapshots of some of my favorite backstage moments. I enjoyed browsing the clothes and shoes prior to the show (got a love a sneak peak!) and chatting among models while getting their hair done by hair guru Ted Gibson and their nails done courtesy of Essie–each model’s nails were painted in “Good as Gold” for a reflective and deep mirror-like illusion.
