I wore this outfit to Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week yesterday afternoon. Running around the tents at Lincoln Center is like going back to a special place that you’ve known so well for years, so it’s exciting to go back every season: same security guards, same attitudes, same hangouts and V.I.P lounges, but different front row attendees and of course collections. My morning started off with my usual family Sunday brunch at a new restaurant on the UES (the best chocolate chip and fig breads in town) prior to attending Lela Rose, Tracy Reese, and Diane Von Furstenberg’s shows. I wanted to wear an outfit that was colorful, bold and could transition easily from day to night. Patterned pants were the perfect option, and I’m particularly obsessed with these as they’re in a funky royal blue print. I also decided to incorporate an unexpected pop of color via my patent leather belt and brand new satin pumps to give this edgy look a bit of “girlie-girl.” I’m not usually into satin shoes, but this pair is a major exception.
